Alesha Logan

Biography

Dr. Alesha Logan, an Assistant Professor and Nurse Practitioner, serves as a faculty member in the Family Nurse Practitioner program of the School of Integrated Health.  She has been employed at Indiana Wesleyan University since 2018. 

Dr. Logan has worked in healthcare in a variety of capacities, including hospital administration, primary care provider, clinical instructor, preceptor, and adjunct faculty. Most recently, she launched Logos Health, a direct primary care clinic in the Charlotte, North Carolina area, where she serves as medical director.  Alesha specializes in integrative and holistic primary family care, women’s health, and hormone replacement in men and women.

Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Dr. Logan received her initial undergraduate degree from Isothermal Community College in 2009, later completing her BSN at Indiana University-Purdue University of Indianapolis (IUPUI) in 2012. She went on to earn a Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2015 from the University of Indianapolis, and completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in December of 2022 at the University of Alabama- Huntsville.

With many interests in the combination of preventive health and weight management, Alesha’s doctoral project focused on the ability to integrate weight loss efforts and primary care within a faith-based setting. Her research project demonstrated the effectiveness of church-based health initiatives at helping to improve the quality of life and decrease health risk.

Dr. Logan’s teaching style utilizes technology, creativity and personability to create an engaging online classroom setting. She is the recipient of the 2023 DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing Faculty.

Outside of her role as a faculty member, clinic owner and primary care provider, she is a wife and mother of 6 children.
