Our small class sizes provide you with the opportunity to build a relationship with your professors. They want to get to know you both academically and individually.

Our division’s motto is Voice for the Voiceless. As a student, you’ll learn how to give voice to the stories around you—stories that are told with professionalism, integrity and human connection. Within each major, you’ll learn how to give voice whether that is on stage, on-air or in print.

What Makes IWU So Unique

Jazz Drummer
National Association of Schools of Music ( NASM)

It is one thing to say that you have a good school of music; it is quite another to have an outside body recognize that your programs are in good standing.

Indiana Wesleyan University has been an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) since 1994. NASM, founded in 1924, is an organization of schools, conservatories, colleges, and universities with approximately 630 accredited institutional members. It establishes national standards for undergraduate and graduate degrees and other credentials. Institutional membership is gained only through the peer review process of accreditation.

Over the years, the Chorale has been honored to participate in many special events, including the Gaither Praise Gathering and the 2000 dedication of the Van Kampen Foundation's Hampton Court in Herefordshire, England. The Chorale has also appeared as musical guests at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California, and at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The Chorale has also performed in Europe with concerts in St. Giles' Cathedral, Edinburgh, Scotland; St. Paul's Cathedral, London, England; Sacre Coeur, Paris, France; St. Peter's Basilica, Rome, Italy; and St. Mark's Basilica, Venice, Italy.

Each year, the Chorale prepares for several regularly scheduled concerts throughout the Midwestern United States, as well as a weeklong spring tour.

Wind Ensemble
Wind Ensemble

The Indiana Wesleyan University Wind Ensemble strives to present the finest level of performance and ministry through concert band and wind ensemble literature. Membership in this ensemble represents a wide spectrum of majors.

The concept of the Wind Ensemble was developed in the mid-'50s by conductor and musician Frederick Fennell, using only one instrumentalist per part. Fennell's concept grew in popularity throughout the '50s and '60s and continues today.

The IWU Wind Ensemble was founded in 1995, and it soon became the premier touring instrumental ensemble of the University.

The Wind Ensemble presents several performances on the Marion campus and many regularly scheduled concerts throughout the Midwest, including two weekends in the fall and two in the spring, and a weeklong tour during IWU's spring break.
