Faculty Profile
Abby Flenar is an assistant professor in the pre-licensure nursing program. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University in 2006, her Master of Science in Nursing Education from IWU in 2019, and recently her certification as a nurse educator from the National League for Nursing. Abby’s clinical expertise includes 12 years as a neonatal intensive care nurse and time spent in mother-baby care.
She and her husband Matt live in Peru, IN with their children. She enjoys spending time with her family, vacations to northern Michigan, and DIY projects.
Abby is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society and plans to obtain a Post-Masters Certificate as Family Nurse Practitioner and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice. Her love of nursing and education has brought her many personal and professional blessings, and she is thrilled to be serving the students of IWU!
Abby currently teaches Nursing Care of Children, Fundamentals of Nursing, and Nutrition.
