Faculty Profile
Dr. Anita Manwell brings 15 years of public school teaching experience from both self-contained and departmentalized settings. Her work as an educator and as a Title I coordinator enhances her current role as Academic Chair and Professor in the Division of Teacher Education.
At IWU, she challenges preservice teachers to develop theoretical and pedagogical understanding through classroom instruction and supervision. Her passion for literacy is evident in the courses she teaches, which include Literacy Methods and Literacy in Diverse Settings.
Anita's research interests include reading attitudes of boys and the gender gap in literacy achievement.
