Benjamin Hyde grew up in Northeast Ohio where he harbored his love of history, reading, and local sports.  He began his service at IWU as Assistant Professor of Education after ten years as a teacher, coach and administrator. 

His passion lies in developing instruction and systems that engage all learners and instill lifelong love for content.  He believes that effective teachers begin with an asset-based mindset and encourage students to grow into who God designed them to be.  

In his role, Professor Hyde teaches undergraduate courses, supervises pre-service teachers, and oversees the Secondary Education program.
