Dr. Brian Maxwell serves as the Dean for the School of Arts & Humanities. As a theatre artist, musician and lover of literature. Dr. Maxwell values the creative process and has been privileged to teach a variety of courses including acting, American literature, directing, educational theatre, media communication, public speaking, script analysis and writing.

Dr. Maxwell is an administrator, teacher and mentor, and is grateful for the opportunity to equip, energize and empower students and faculty at Indiana Wesleyan University.

The greatest blessing of his life is sharing it with Andréa Rose, his best friend and wife of over three decades. They have five talented, loving, funny children as well as three amazing in-laws and four beautiful grandkids.

Why did you decide to teach at IWU?

I love the Lord. I love people. I love teaching. Indiana Wesleyan University is a great place to love and serve.

Hobbies:

Reading, walking, watching vintage TV, leading worship and hanging out with friends and family.

Advice for a prospective student:

Humble yourself and allow God to accomplish His work in and through you.
