Dr. Dorothy (Dot) Clark-Ott has taught full-time at IWU since 2008. Her areas of expertise include school nursing, men in nursing, research, and military nursing. Current memberships include: American Assembly for Men in Nursing, and Sigma Theta Tau International, Eta Chi Chapter.

INTERESTS

Dr. Clark-Ott has done original research in parent perceptions of school health services, and parent perceptions regarding childhood obesity. Her doctoral dissertation developed and psychometrically tested an instrument to assess facilitators for men during nursing education. She has been published in the Journal of School Health and the Journal of Pediatric Health Care. Professional presentations include: Facilitators for Men in Nursing Education: 13 Key Items to Check, Adapting a Nursing Research Class to Advance IOM Goals, and Obesity Management in Schools: What's Working?
