Dr. Sabin serves as a Professor in the DNP program within the School of Integrated Health at Indiana Wesleyan University. She received her BSN degree from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, and her MSN degree from Valdosta State University in Valdosta Georgia, with a clinical specialty in community and public health nursing and a functional specialty in nursing education. Dr. Sabin received her DNP degree from Rush University in Chicago, Illinois with a focus on systems leadership and population health. She is board certified in the clinical areas of advanced public health nursing and community health nursing, and is a certified nurse educator.

Throughout her career, Dr. Sabin has focused on post-licensure nursing education, teaching in RNBSN, MSN, and DNP programs. In addition to teaching, she has extensive experience with curriculum and course development, creating prior learning assessment opportunities and innovative teaching-learning activities, initiating and overseeing best practices for online instruction, mentoring faculty, providing leadership within university governance councils, and contributing to efforts that assure the alignment of academic and operational practices with the accreditation standards and regulatory guidelines that impact post-licensure nursing education. Dr. Sabin has served in roles including professor, curriculum and assessment coordinator, leader of systematic program evaluation, and program director.

Dr. Sabin is passionate about public health nursing, health policy, and upstream interventions to advance population health outcomes. Her experience in the clinical areas of public and population-focused nursing includes community-based case management of high-risk maternal and newborn populations; creating and implementing health promotion and disease prevention programs for vulnerable populations; serving as lead nurse for state-funded regional early intervention and Medicaid waiver programs; coordinating community-based health screening programs; providing school health nursing services for Pre-K through grade 12; leadership of community health assessment, planning, and improvement processes; and assurance of ACA policy requirements for hospital tax-exempt status. Dr. Sabin maintains volunteer practice serving vulnerable populations through collaborative efforts with a local Christian healthcare agency and her church.
