Faculty Profile
Dr. Friberg completed a physical therapy degree from the University of Oklahoma. He went on to graduate school at the University of Iowa where he received a Master of Arts and a PhD with an emphasis in instructional design and curriculum development. Dr. Friberg also obtained his Master of Education degree in counseling and human development from Hardin Simmons University and is a licensed professional counselor.
Clinical interests and expertise are associated with examination, evaluation, and intervention for spine dysfunction. His advanced clinical certification (CFMT) is from the Institute of Physical Art.
Dr. Friberg has more than 35 years of experience in higher education in a variety of leadership and faculty positions. His clinical teaching focus has been on the management and integrations of musculoskeletal dysfunction from a biomechanical and neuromechanical perspective. He is also actively involved in the integration and development of the learner as a whole person.
Research interests include first, explaining the processes associated with the metacognitive changes necessary for successful completion of the physical therapy education experience. Second, clinically, he is interested in understanding the implications of neuromechanical influences and dysfunction associated with spine movement dysfunction.
