Sally Nurse joined IWU October 2018 as an assistant professor Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for the occupational therapy assistant program. Sally received her Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Eastern Kentucky University and her Master’s degree from Argosy University in Human Services. Sally has more than 30 years of experience as a generalist occupational therapy practitioner working with neurological, cardiac, pulmonary, orthopedic and mental health conditions. She has worked with pediatric and adolescent clients, adults with developmental disabilities, adults, and geriatric populations. Sally served as fieldwork educator for occupational therapy assistant students in the field prior to serving in academia. Sally has over 6 years teaching experience as fulltime faculty and serving as Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for occupational therapy assistant students at Brown Mackie College. Sally has taught in all areas of occupational therapy assisting education but her special interests are in creative teaching methods in functional anatomy, activity analysis, and occupational therapy media. Sally is talented in both the technology side and artistic side of occupational therapy. Sally is an artist and designs wearable prints for therapy and faith based merchandise for an online business. Sally has two adult daughters. She and her husband care for their 2 dogs.  Sally enjoys spending time and laughing with her family, engaging in art, crafts, and cooking.
