From Ashton...

Hello! My name is Ashton McKuras, and I have the amazing opportunity to serve students in the western U.S. and the states of Illinois and Wisconsin! I graduated from IWU in 2018 with a degree in Sports Management. The community at IWU made it easy to make many lifelong friendships as I continued to grow in my faith. I love being an admissions counselor because I get to play a part of you embarking onto your next journey. I know the college search can be filled with excitement and challenges and I look forward to serving you!

A Bit About Ashton

The community! You can’t help but make many lifelong friendships, everyone from the students to the faculty truly care and it is clear Christ is at the center of it all!
I always enjoyed participating in intramurals with my friends, whether you were competitive or just playing for fun it was always a good time! Also McConn coffee all hours of the day and late night wings in the piazza are staples for me!

I get to meet you and hear so many stories as I get to play a part of you embarking onto your next journey.

The faculty and staff. Everyone is authentic and is here to serve you beyond just an education. It was clear when I was a student and even clearer now as an admissions counselor.
I am inspired by people who are skilled in creating places for others. I love to serve people and there’s no greater thing to serve than joy and comfort. Whether it’s throwing a big event, serving a cup of coffee, or a simple smile to a stranger. I am inspired by those who can create an authentically happy environment.
I love traveling to experience both beautiful natural surroundings and cultural city centers. When I’m not on the road I love coffee shops, baseball (go Cubs), and spending quality time with friends and family!
First off, enjoy every second of this moment take in all you can from the schools you visit! Second, if I could do anything over again it would be to take scholarship applications seriously, you can never have enough aid. Lastly, once on campus, get involved you’ll make many friends along the way!
