What Will I Learn in this Aviation Management Bachelor’s Program?

The B.S. in aviation management includes flight training that will give you experience in the air with professional pilots. The course topics include human factors and automation, U.S. and global aviation operations, safety, management, laws, regulations, and more. Most of the flight courses last 12 weeks, while general education and major courses are provided in 6-week sessions. We also offer student services, from tech support to tutoring, that can help you stay on track and successfully complete this online aviation degree program.

Tuition and fees for prerequisites and required elective courses are in addition to the charges shown on the program cost sheet. Your tuition rate will remain the same as long as you remain continuously enrolled in the same program. Program Requirements
  • Proof of standard high school diploma, GED certification, or current high school transcript for approval by the Aviation Program Director.
  • Original transcripts from all previous college or university study at a college or university that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • All prospective students must be interviewed and approved by the program director or designee.
  • Students must agree to and sign the university Aviation Program Waiver of Liability Document.
  • Submission of all other required documents and admissions approval by the program director.

Some flight partners may have additional requirements.

In addition, the following Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements will apply:

  • Be at least 17 years of age for the Private Pilot Certificate
  • Be at least 18 years of age for the Commercial Pilot Certificate
  • Be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language*
  • Complete verification requirements as required by the Transportation Safety Association (TSA), including presenting either of the following: original Passport or original birth-certificate and government-issued photo identification.
  • Hold either a First-Class or Second-Class FAA Medical Certificate

*The “speak” can be satisfied in the interview by the program director, and for international students, the “read” and “write” can be satisfied by a minimum TOEFL score of 79.

  • Completion of 120 semester hours.
  • Completion of the required core courses with a GPA of 2.25 or higher.
  • Students must maintain a "B" grade in all AVP courses. Failure to maintain the appropriate academic progress may result in suspension from the program.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.25 or higher.
  • Completion of 30 hours of general education requirements as specified.
  • Payment of all tuition and fees is required to receive a diploma.
  • FAA Commercial Certificate with Single or Multi-Engine Land Class Rating.
  • FAA Instrument Rating.
  • Students should purchase various piloting devices to perform the functions of a pilot such as a flight computer, current aeronautical charts, headset, etc.
  • Students who need more flight training time beyond the budget for each course must add funds to their account to continue their training.
