The Graduate Certificate in Health Coaching and Wellness at Indiana Wesleyan University is designed for individuals with a bachelor’s degree or higher who want to develop the skills and knowledge to inspire and guide others toward healthier lifestyles. This innovative program combines key coaching techniques—such as motivational interviewing and behavior change strategies—with lifestyle medicine principles to help participants create personalized wellness plans for their clients. Rooted in a Christian perspective, the program emphasizes building supportive, empowering relationships that promote sustainable health and wellness.
Students can choose to complete the certificate program on its own or pursue a master’s degree in Integrative Health by adding two additional certificate programs: Fundamentals of Integrative Health and Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Healthcare.
What is Integrative Health?
Integrative health takes a comprehensive approach to healthcare, blending traditional medical practices with complementary therapies to treat the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. This approach emphasizes a collaborative therapeutic relationship and leverages a range of conventional and alternative therapies to promote optimal health and healing. Practitioners work closely with patients to create personalized care plans that address the root causes of illness, incorporating modalities such as nutrition, mindfulness, acupuncture, and more.
