The Bible Second Major is designed to allow students across Indiana Wesleyan University to add a strong foundation in biblical studies to their education. This second major equips students for a lifetime of Scripture study and can be added to any major outside the School of Theology and Ministry. Students interested in a primary major in this area should look into the Bachelor’s in Biblical Literature and Languages program.
Graduates will be equipped to enhance their primary area of study with biblical knowledge, history, and expertise, allowing them to provide essential spiritual and theological insight in their field.
Why Pursue the Bible Second Major at IWU?
This IWU undergraduate degree program emphasizes practical application and experience. At IWU, Christian beliefs aren’t just ideas to be examined; they are the means by which we encounter God’s transformative spirit. Students don’t merely learn about the Bible, they encounter God in fresh ways through deep study of God’s word. Faculty in the School of Theology and Ministry love to connect with students and invest in their spiritual, academic, and personal growth. Students in any IWU theology major will encounter theology professors who care about them and are invested in their education and faith.
What will I Learn in this Bible Second Major Program?
Throughout this Bible Second Major, students will participate in classes such as Pentateuch and Minor Prophets, Advanced New Testament classes about the Gospel of John and Paul’s Letters, and have the option to study Greek and Hebrew. Additionally, this program is built on a foundation of spiritual formation, practical ministry, and biblical and theological studies to ensure all graduates have the proper spiritual support needed to succeed.
