Yes! Wildcat Check-In is a required event for all students. Skip the lines upon arrival and be cleared to move into your residence hall by completing the Cleared for Class checklist tasks before their respective deadlines.
We'll help you get all set! Students may not start the semester until they've been Cleared for Class, so be sure you complete the tasks required to be cleared.
No, all students are required to move in during a designated Wildcat Check-In day and time. Your check-in time will be communicated to you.
Prior to moving into your residence hall, you'll be required to attend Wildcat Check-In to ensure you're Cleared for Class. Housing move-in slips will be issued during the Wildcat Check-In event.

Housing assignments are made June 1, July 1, and on a weekly basis throughout July and August. Completing the housing application as soon as possible will maximize your chances of landing your first or second residence hall preference.
You'll receive your first bill before July 1, and Student Account Services will work with you in July for your best payment option.

Yes, your parents can absolutely help! We have a high commitment to protecting the educational records of our students and comply with the requirements of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). To make sure offices can work with students’ parents to take care of business, new and returning students can sign a release (here) that identifies who can have access to the student’s financial, academic, or conduct records.
You can set up a payment plan with Student Account Services to be Cleared for Class and eligible to start at IWU as a student. If you're not sure you can pay for your semester, contact the Student Account Services office and Financial Aid to learn more about your options.
